Meet Brandee
At the age of 17, during her senior year of high school, Brandee Gordon was
introduced to the world of tattoo art. While attending a nearby motorcycle show
and swap meet with a family friend, it was suggested to her that she expand her
love and talent of art into the tattoo world via an apprenticeship. Traditional
art had been her passion, but she thought, “A career in tattooing….Why not? I
am a people person, love to express my creativity through art, why not let human
skin be my canvas as a means of my expression.” Brandee, now 29, has been
tattooing for 11 years. Brandee’s apprenticeship was completed at Tommy’s
Tattoos in Kokomo, IN.
After successful completion of the program, just 1 year later, at the age of 18,
Brandee opened her own business, Native Ink Tattoo. She specializes in custom
work with an emphasis in black and gray work. Brandee later chose to further her
education through attending the International Institute for Permanent Cosmetics
near Los Angeles, CA. Brandee’s focus in permanent cosmetics consists of
eyebrow, eyeliner, lip-liner, and full color applications.
Since the opening of Native Ink Tattoo in 1998, Brandee has grown to be known as
an independent, creative, positive, ambitious, and confident tattoo artist.
Brandee has managed to maintain a level of enthusiasm that has provided her
clients with a comfortable and friendly atmosphere making her often recommended
to others. Her clientele often consists of individuals that travel several hours
for her services.
Brandee has accomplished her dream and now maintains her business in her
hometown while continuing to travel throughout the United States and Caribbean
to tattoo. Her travels include places such as London, Mexico, California,
Florida, Las Vegas, Chicago, New York, and Puerto Rico. Brandee’s plan for the
future is to open additional facilities throughout the United States as well as
Puerto Rico. Native Ink has had a successful 10 years and plans for the next 10
years to be as well.
