At the age of 17, during her senior year of high school, Brandee Gordon was introduced to the world of tattoo art. While attending a nearby motorcycle show and swap meet with a family friend, it was suggested to her that she expand her love and talent of art into the tattoo world via an apprenticeship. Traditional art had been her passion, but she thought, “A career in tattooing….Why not? I am a people person, love to express my creativity through art, why not let human skin be my canvas as a means of my expression. Brandee’s apprenticeship was completed at Tommy’s Tattoos in Kokomo, IN.
After successful completion of the program, just 1 year later, at the age of 18, Brandee opened her own business, Native Ink Tattoo. She specializes in custom work with an emphasis in black and gray work. Brandee later chose to further her education through attending the International Institute for Permanent Cosmetics near Los Angeles, CA. Brandee’s focus in permanent cosmetics consists of eyebrow, eyeliner, lip-liner, and full color applications.
Since the opening of Native Ink Tattoo in 1998, Brandee has grown to be known as an independent, creative, positive, ambitious, and confident tattoo artist. Brandee has managed to maintain a level of enthusiasm that has provided her clients with a comfortable and friendly atmosphere making her often recommended to others. Her clientele often consists of individuals that travel several hours for her services.
